Lake Iznájar is 45 minutes from the mill and offers a beach, fresh water bathing and no crowds.
The town of Iznájar stands on a hilltop almost entirely surrounded by the lake and is a true pueblo blanco - a white village - for which Andalucia is so famous.
With its steep streets and miradors it is well worth visiting.
Loja is our nearest large town with good shops, an historic centre with narrow cobbled streets, two fine old churches and a castle.
During the week before Easter (Semana Santa) the town's narrow street are filled with remarkable processions in a style that goes back many hundred of years.
Alhama de Granada
Alhama is a gem with many interesting buildings, a deep gorge containing ruined watermills and hot springs dating from Roman times.
Montefrío is a delightful town with a church built on a rocky outcrop and the finest domed church in Andalucia.
