Welcome to Molino la Ratonera, a recently opened holiday retreat set in a watermill in a lush river valley. The location of this mill, in the heart of rural inland Andalucia, southern Spain, is within easy reach of Granada with the Alhambra and Albaicin, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba and yet its rural situation provides a haven for wildlife and an excellent environment for walking, birdwatching or relaxing.

Molino la Ratonera, set among olive groves in a lush river valley We offer a choice of rental properties for short breaks or longer holidays of any duration on a self-catering basis. We have six houses available ranging from the small two person Casita from only £290 per week high season to the beautifully restored Cortijo which will comfortably sleep eight guests, with rental prices starting at £600 high season for four people.

In addition to the rental houses there is a large pool, gym and bar and restaurant.

The beautiful 5 metre high waterfall and the 16th century mill tower add to the magic of the site and make it an unforgettable location.



Access to Molino la Ratonera is by newly resurfaced track, from our nearest town of Zagra, less than 2 miles away. Zagra contains bars and restaurants, an excellent small supermarket, banks with cash machines and even an internet café. We are only 30 minutes away from the A92 motorway, which makes Granada, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba within easy reach for a day visit. With only an hour's journey from Granada airport and 1 hour 20 minutes from Malaga, this is an ideal holiday location.

Lake Iznajar is 30 minutes from the mill and offers a beach, fresh water bathing and no crowds.
Loja is our nearest large town with good shops, an historic centre with narrow cobbled streets, two fine old churches and a castle .
Alhama is a gem with many interesting buildings, a deep gorge containing ruined watermills and hot springs dating from Roman times.
Montefrio is a delightful town with a church built on a rocky outcrop and the finest domed church in Andalucia.
The Sierra Subbetica is a mountainous region in the south of Cordoba province known for its scenery and good walking. Visit the website.
